Belknap Fire - August 15
The Belknap fire is burning in a pocket of green timber next to the 2000 Hash Rock fire scar within Mill Creek Wilderness, about 15 miles northeast of Prineville.
There are no road closures associated with the Belknap Fire, there are trail closures in the Mill Creek Wilderness Area. Check out the morning and evening updates for the latest information on the Belknap Fire
Hi, just wondering if peoole at the oregon eclipse festival should be worried about the fire spreading to us? There are about 50,000 people here located at the festival in the big summit prairie just 10 miles east of the fire. Thank you
I see this fire is still listed as an open incident. Can you tell me if this fire is dead cold out, or is it lingering for some further action, please?
Hello Colleen, This fire is considered contained. There may continue to be some heat in the interior but the there is no concern that it will escape the perimeter. Hope that answers your question but if you have any other concerns feel free to call us at 541-316-7711. Thanks, Kassidy Kern Public Information Officer
