6/10/14 12:25 pm How to Help Firefighters on the Two Bulls Fire

Many community members want to donate items and services to the firefighters of the Two Bulls Fire. While the Incident Management Teams for the Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon State Fire Marshal, as well as the Deschutes National Forest are very grateful for the generosity of the community, we do not have the capacity to deal with all of the donations. If you see individual firefighters, please extend your thanks or feel free to give them a cookie or a hand shake for their great work.

However, if you would like to make a donation, please consider one of the following organizations:
The Wildland Firefighter Foundation is a non-profit that supports the families of firefighters killed in the line of duty. Supporting them is just like supporting our brothers and sisters on the fireline. Visit www.wffoundation.org.

The Bend Red Cross will also be accepting donations and encourage individuals to get involved by seeking out training opportunities to be ready for the next disaster. Contact: www.redcross.org/or/bend/ways-to-donate

Food donations are accepted by the Bend Community Center (BCC) to help them provide the more than 1,200 meals per week to local families. The BCC can be contacted at 541-312-2069.

We are stronger as a community when we take care of each other. Thank you for your appreciation and generosity!
