6/10/14 10:00 am Red Flag Warning for Central Oregon
The National Weather Service issued a "red flag warning" for 2 pm to 8 pm, meaning "critical fire weather" across Central Oregon. "A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior," the NWS warned, "with northwest winds 15 -20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity as low as 13 percent. The combination of winds, low humidity and critically dry fuels my result in rapid fire spread," forecasters warn.
