Nash Fire Frequently Asked Question

Question from the public: Now that the Nash and Separation Creek fires have grown together, will it still be called the Nash Fire?

Answer: The Nash Fire is considered everything south of Separation Creek and the Incident Management Team in charge of both the Milli and Nash Fires will be managing the Nash Fire from that geographic point. Where necessary, they will coordinate management efforts with the Willamette team managing the Separation Fire.

    1. From it's proximity to Nash Lake, I suspect.

    2. Sorry--thought we replied to this one. Yes, you're correct. Fires are named for geographic features near their point of origin.

  3. Have they managed to get an idea of the perimeter yet ? Too much smoke to see it they've said. I know they were hoping to fly an IR scan. Has that happened yet ?

    1. We were unable to fly an IR flight again. Fire officials have a tool called Modis (not sure if it's an acronym) and it tracks heat so we have some idea of the perimeter right now and it's up to 3,500 acres. The majority of the heat yesterday was in the northwest section.
